On February 22, 2023, McQuaide Blasko shareholder John Snyder was invited by the Labor and Employment Law Society of Penn State Law to address the Glacier Northwest case currently pending before the United States Supreme Court.  Snyder and Paul Clark, Graduate Program Director of the Penn State School of Labor and Employment Relations appeared and the Penn State Law School to discuss the history, implications and potential impacts of the highly anticipated United States Supreme Court’s ruling in the Glacier Northwest case.  The case involves an appeal from the Supreme Court of the State of Washington holding that the National Labor Relations Act pre-empted the jurisdiction of the state courts of Washington to address claims for alleged damages to employer equipment and inventory arising from a strike by concrete workers.  The ruling is likely to have significant impacts on the future balance of jurisdiction as between state courts and the federal National Labor Relations Board.
