Jonathan B. Stepanian, Esq. shareholder at McQuaide Blasko, recently presented a continuing legal education (CLE) program for civil defense attorneys titled “Venue and Forum Non Conveniens: Navigating Pennsylvania’s Latest Updates.”

The session covered key appellate developments—including the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision in Hangey v. Husqvarna and anticipated decision in Tranter v. Z&D Tours—and provided practical strategies for evaluating venue early, challenging forum shopping, and preparing for forum non conveniens motions.

“This topic is top of mind for defense lawyers as plaintiffs increasingly target plaintiff-friendly venues,” said Stepanian. “We focused on helping defense teams respond proactively and strategically.”

The program was hosted by the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, where Stepanian is a co-chair of the Professional Liability Committee.
