Thomas S. Schrack

Tom Schrack is an experienced leader who knows what it takes to counsel and guide his clients. Tom focuses his practice on advising all forms of entities, including businesses, municipalities, municipal authorities, and non-profit organizations. Equipped with extensive knowledge, Tom has carefully cultivated his practice throughout his career, starting with his early work for a large, urban-based firm and continuing with specialized education, including a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation. Tom’s clients benefit from his pragmatic and practical style, and his ability to remain efficient and results-driven while fostering a professional, cooperative atmosphere.

Tom routinely advises various middle market, emerging and closely-held businesses in many industries including health care, education, engineering, construction, restaurant, hotel, retail, real estate, and insurance and benefits. Often serving as long-term outside general counsel, Tom assists his clients in a wide array of legal matters, such as business formation, governance and employment matters, business disputes, commercial transactions, day-to-day operational matters, real estate sales and acquisitions, leasing, and fundamental transactions such as mergers and acquisitions. With operations and governance expertise, serving as a solicitor to municipalities and municipal authorities is a natural extension of Tom’s practice. Tom’s reputation and proficiency in this area have made him a sought-after solicitor, with representative engagements involving rail authorities, water and sewer authorities, hospital authorities, and municipalities in Central Pennsylvania. Tom’s experience in the public arena includes Sunshine Act and Right-To-Know issues, procurement, financing, local government relations, board governance, and public relations management. Tom’s effective and personable approach to the practice of law has enabled the individuals that he counsels to thoroughly rely on his guidance and his ability to obtain desirable results. This reliance extends to areas beyond the board room. In addition to his representation of entities, Tom frequently assists individuals with estate planning and other personal legal needs. Tom believes that it is equally important to be a good corporate citizen. He is actively involved in his community and has served on numerous boards, in many cases serving as president or chair. His recent board appointments include the Centre County United Way, the Schlow Library Foundation, Leadership Centre County, and the YMCA of Centre County. In these roles, Tom leads by example and harnesses his passion for corporate governance to help improve the quality of life in the community in which he lives.
