Since joining McQuaide Blasko in 1996, Katherine Allen has focused her practice on the areas of employment law, civil rights and employment litigation, and issues of higher education law. She has tried cases in federal and state court and before administrative judges and arbitration panels. She has represented parties on appeal to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the Pennsylvania appellate courts and has worked on briefs filed in the United States Supreme Court.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Allen has advised clients on human resources issues, compliance with electronic discovery requirements, and revisions to employment policies and handbooks. She represents and advises several nonprofit groups in the Centre County region on employment and general litigation issues, and currently serves as chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Law Practice Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Allen practiced in Tennessee and Wisconsin and served as law clerk to the chief judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.
