Since joining McQuaide Blasko in 1987, Daniel E. Bright has concentrated his practice on estate planning and administration, business and finance transactions, and tax-exempt organizations. He leads the firm's business and corporate practice group and has represented numerous Central Pennsylvania corporate clients in major transactions. His recent roles have included:

  • Local counsel, $5 million corporate asset acquisition
  • Borrower's counsel, $30 million Industrial Development Authority Revenue Bond to finance addition to continuing-care retirement community
  • Lender's counsel, $3.5 million bridge loan to finance construction of apartment complex
  • Borrower's counsel, $150 million fixed-rate bond issue
  • Transaction counsel, $15 million wholesale electricity purchase agreements with several vendors
  • Lender's counsel, $5.3 million loan for permanent financing of a hotel
  • Lender's counsel, $1.7 million refinancing of low-income tax credit apartment complex
  • Transaction counsel, negotiation and preparation of dual-use agreement between owner and minor-league baseball team for ballpark
  • Grantee counsel, $25 million Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant for construction of client's facility
  • Transaction/borrower's counsel for the development, construction, and operation of a $30.8 million continuing-care retirement community
  • Ongoing solicitor and transaction counsel, long-term waste disposal agreements for Mifflin and Centre County Solid Waste Authorities

Prior to joining McQuaide Blasko, Mr. Bright was a U.S. Naval Reserve officer in the Judge Advocate General's Corps and then a senior staff attorney for The Ayco Corporation (then a subsidiary of American Express), offering estate-planning advice and seminars for high net worth clients. He has built on that experience for more than 20 years and currently provides ongoing representation to approximately 770 estate planning clients and 30 to 50 estates.

A McQuaide Blasko shareholder, Mr. Bright also represents nonprofit organizations in matters ranging from formation to obtaining tax-exempt status to gift planning.
